As of August 16th, we must unfortunately say goodbye to the well known, and well loved calendar app for both iPad and iPhone; Calvetica. Calvetica is rebranding to, wait for it, ‘Fast Calendar & Tasks (Calvetica)’ a bit of a mouthful to say the least. More importantly though, it removes the essence of simplicity, previously synonymous with the Calvetica name. However, if the name change helps them to get more downloads, good for them. Although I can’t see the name change sticking around for too long.
Anyway, rant over, what’s so great about this new version of ‘Calvetica’? Well there’s definitely a lot of new stuff that’s for sure! A few of the updates include:
- Continuous landscape view
- New gestures
- Improved complex repeat UI
- Other UI improvements
- A welcome update to the Pocket Lint account creation screen
- A new searchable knowledge base which updates live
As well as numerous other bug fixes.
Also, if you’ve not yet had the chance to try Calvetica, the classic version (version 3.7, we’re now on to 4.1) is available FREE for a limited time only on the app store. If you love the classic version, then do not hesitate to download the paid 4.1 version as it is, without a doubt, a whole lot better!
